Any period of the year is the right one to allow yourself a pleasantly relaxing break in the most typical of the Tuscan hills. The so-called Chianti area is outstanding. Here stands an enchanting bed & breakfast establishment, Corte di Valle, rooted back at the beginning of the last century when an elderly Florentine diplomat chose Chianti as the location to have a villa built, while he stayed on to end out his last posting in Buenos Aires. In those days, Florence had been restructured to make it more magnificent, so the building of the Villa followed the criteria laid down, given that it was certainly bound to house major personalities.
Standing next to the villa one also finds the Casa di Caccia (hunting lodge), the Casa nel Bosco (the woodland cottage) and the wine cellars the style of which reflects the typical style of agricultural complexes in this region. Each environment conjures up different atmospheres: from the most romantic in the Villa to the most traditional in the Casa del Bosco.
The houses are furnished with antique furniture and the bedrooms, that have been fully revamped, are enveloped by cool silences, still preserving the scent of old timber and distant memories. A delightful swimming pool, a lake and the opportunity to walk among the sounds and smells of the wood are all there, too. Waking up in the morning at Corte di Valle is accompanied by sweet smells of traditional bread and pastries, for rich and tasty breakfasts that bring a smile to the sleepiest face.
